Let's Talk Timelines

If you’re dreaming about turning your backyard into an oasis with a dip pool, one of the first questions that probably comes to mind is: “How long is this going to take?” It’s a fair question—and one we hear from almost every client.

At Nashville Dip Pools, we aim to make the process as efficient and predictable as possible. While every project is a little different, we’ve completed enough installations to give you a clear idea of what to expect.

Average Timeline: 4–6 Weeks

From the day we show up on site to the day the city issues your final Use & Occupancy Certificate, most dip pool projects take about 4 to 6 weeks. That includes the full installation process, necessary inspections, and the finishing work that brings your outdoor space to life.

Let’s break that down:

Week 1–2: Pool Installation & Plumbing (5–10 Business Days)

Once the dig begins, things move fast. Our crew will:

  • Excavate the site
  • Set the shell / pour the concrete
  • Run plumbing lines to the equipment pad
  • Backfill and stabilize the pool
  • Coordinate inspections with your local municipality (e.g., electrical bonding, rough plumbing, etc.)

This phase usually takes 5 to 10 business days, depending on weather, inspection timing, and site-specific factors.

Week 3–5: Hardscaping, Turf, and Fencing (2–4 Weeks)

While the pool itself may be ready to swim in, most homeowners choose to enhance their space with additional features like:

  • Pavers or stone patios
  • Artificial turf
  • Privacy fencing
  • Landscaping and drainage work

These elements are highly customized and typically add another 2 to 4 weeks to the timeline, depending on the scope of work. At Nashville Dip Pools, we can either fully execute the entire scope of work or you’re welcome to bring in your own team.

Week 6 (or Sooner): Final Inspection and Use & Occupancy Certificate

Once everything is complete, the final step is scheduling a city inspection. When the city signs off and issues the Use & Occupancy Certificate, your project is officially complete—and your pool is ready to enjoy.

What Can Delay a Pool Installation?

While we do everything in our power to stay on schedule, a few factors can impact the timeline:

  • Delays with city inspections
  • Weather (especially heavy rain followed by overcast days where the ground doesn’t dry out)
  • Site-specific challenges like large rock
  • Client changes or additions mid-project

We pride ourselves on clear communication, so if something comes up, you’ll always know what’s going on and how we’re working to keep things moving.
